Ocean Studies is an ongoing body of work photographed throughout Hawaiʻi after nearly twenty years spent photographing Buddhist temples, Buddha statues, monks, and other sacred places across Asia. Although the subject changed, what I was searching for did not. These photographs explore the quiet rhythms of the Pacific Ocean—a continuing search for stillness in moving water.
