This photo is titled "Monk", a shot from my "Morning Calm" project, which focuses on cultural change in Korea. Caption for the shot is as follows:
A Seoul restaurant owner kindly refuses a young Buddhist monk’s offer to pay for his meal. Such a scene has become rarer, although it had once been commonplace for a monk to be offered free food and shelter, in the hopes of receiving a blessing. However, despite Buddhism’s long history, and its deep influence on Korean culture, the religion has been losing popularity.

I am a student from Vienna, currently working on my Street-photography project "On the streets of the world". With that project I´d like to show the different faces and situations people face all around the world, but I´s also like to point out similarities between humans.
I am further developing my skills and expression in traditional art.
